INTERVIEW: Kyle McFadzean gives his reaction to Leicester City defeat

The defender gave his thoughts...

6 August 2023

Kyle McFadzean was disappointed to come away from the King Power empty handed.

The defender had given City the lead, in what was a good performance from the Sky Blues, up until Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall struck twice late on.

The midfielder’s goals snatched the points away from City and McFadzean believes his side were well worthy of at least a point.

Reflecting on the defeat…

“We’re disappointed to come in losing 2-1. I thought we had enough chances to get a draw if not a win.

“Disappointing to lose but it is what it is, we have to put it right now in the next game.”

Goals conceded…

“We felt comfortable to be honest, but they’re a good team and you see the subs coming on and I think that helped them a bit.

“They weren’t very good goals from our point of view to concede so we need to be better, it’s just disappointing because we had a lot of chances, and we didn’t take them.

His goal…

“We have been working on set pieces and we need to score more from them and especially with Gus’ delivery if we make the runs, he’s going to pick us out.”

Taking chances…

“It was a good start to the second half, but we didn’t carry it on. I thought we deserved another goal we had a good 15 minute period.

“But when they scored, we were sloppy with some passes, and it gave them a boost and to concede the goals we did wasn’t like us.

New signings…

“It will take a few weeks to settle in and they’ve only been here a short amount of time so it’s just about us bonding together and we will be fine.

“We’ve brought in some real quality and they’re going to improve us that’s the main thing.”
