Club record signing, Haji Wright, revealed it was an ‘easy decision’ to make when agreeing to join the Sky Blues.
Wright joins City from Turkish side Antalyaspor, where he scored plenty of goals over the last two season, attracting interest from across Europe.
The United States of America international also represented his country at the World Cup last year, scoring his first goal at the competition against the Netherlands.
Now, speaking for the first time since putting pen-to-paper, Wright gave his immediate reaction to joining the Club.
Thoughts on joining the Sky Blues…
“It feels amazing, I’m really excited to get going.
“I was immediately excited by the project and the investment being made at the Club and the team and all round really excited to be part of it.
“It was an easy decision to make.”
Moving over to England…
“Moving to England played a massive part.
“It’s always been one of my dreams to play in England and I know how competitive the Championship is and we have a lot of ambition to hopefully go up one day, so I’m excited to join the Club.”
Playing in Turkey the last few years…
“It was a beautiful experience. I’m happy I got to experience that, but it’s in the past now, I’m looking forward to this challenge.”
Representing USA at the World Cup and scoring…
“We got to play against world class players, and it was an amazing experience, unfortunately we didn’t go as far as I thought we could have, but it was an amazing experience.
“It was a special moment to score at the World Cup as well.”
Meeting Mark Robins…
“He’s very supportive and excited for the season to come and I’m very excited too. I feel exactly the same as him and I can’t wait for the season to start.”
What the fans can expect from him…
“Hopefully a lot of goals and a lot of assists and someone who works hard and does his best for the team.”
Getting ready to go…
“I’m excited to meet the boys, I’ve heard a lot of great things about them and I’m excited to meet them.
“I’m 100% ready go if called upon this weekend.”
