The young Sky Blues dominated the match but were unable to find a winning goal...

Sky Blues Under-21s were held to a goalless draw by Crewe Alexandra at the Alan Higgs Centre on Thursday afternoon.

Will Bapaga and Justin Obikwu both came close for the a young City side with Crewe failing to threaten Cian Tyler's goal throughout.

However, Coventry were forced to settle for a point that extends their unbeaten run in the Professional Development League to four matches.

Bapaga was unlucky not to opening the scoring on 17 minutes after beating two defenders inside the Alex area, only to see his shot saved well by the Crewe goalkeeper.

That same goalkeeper was called up moments later, this time to force Eliot Betjemann’s effort wide of the post.

His best save came just before the break, however, when a City counter-attack saw Bapaga drive upfield and cross to Bradley Stretton. Stretton fired low but the legs of the goalkeeper were there to stop the shot.

Coventry’s dominance continued after the break with Obikwu coming close to finding the net just before the hour mark. The powerful striker forced his way into the area but was denied an opening goal by the referee’s whistle.

After the break, Malakai Reeve and Aiden Dausch were both introduced as City went searching for a second-half winner.

However, despite efforts from Obikwu and Callum Perry, they were unable to find a way to claim all three points.
