NEWS: Sky Blues Academy players learn life skills with Coventry University!

12 April 2023

Young players from Coventry City’s Academy have visited Coventry University as part of the Sky Blues’ work to improve their life skills as well as footballing ones.

Players from the Under 13s up to Under 16s went along to Coventry University on Monday 3rd and Thursday 6th April for cooking lessons and also CPR and first aid training.

This forms part of the work that the Sky Blues Academy does to support the development of the youngsters as people as well as players, improving life skills that will help them for many years to come.

The Academy’s relationship with Coventry University continues to grow, with the two organisations working together in a number of areas – including courses such as this and also providing important placement opportunities and experiences for students at the Sky Blues – with further collaborations in the pipeline too.

Sophie Reynolds, Head of Player Care at Coventry City Academy, said:

“We have been delighted to offer these courses to make sure that young players are developing their life skills while with us at the Academy.

"This is an important part of their development as people, alongside their development as footballers, and it's been great to work alongside Coventry University to provide this."
