Coventry City are reminding fans of behaviour expectations at home and away games, particularly around drug use and underage drinking.
We have been made aware of the increasing problem of drug use before games and at games by a small minority of supporters, and we will be working proactively with Police to identify these fans and take action against them.
The issue of underage drinking at games has also been brought to our attention and we shall also be working with authorities regarding this too.
We know this is a minority of supporters whose behaviour is outlined above, but this is having a detrimental effect on other Sky Blues fans.
Any supporters found to be taking part in this behaviour will be subject to action from the Club and the Police, which can include behavioural programmes and Club bans from home and away matches.
Dave Boddy, Coventry City Chief Executive, said:
“We are aware of increased drug taking and usage at games.
“There is also a continuing issue of underage drinking, which is a safeguarding concern too.
“We work closely with Police already on a number of fronts, and will be working proactively with them and other colleagues regarding this issue and identifying those supporters who are doing this and take appropriate action.”
