Around 1,000 additional tickets are being made available for Coventry City’s home game against Birmingham City on Saturday.
The Club has worked with safety authorities at the Coventry Building Society Arena to allow for changes for this game, the demand for which is unprecedented for any league fixture held at the Arena.
Blocks 4 and 5 will be released for general admission sale for Sky Blues supporters, releasing a further 450 tickets.
Other general admission seats made available through the stadium bowl have released a further 400 tickets, with the general admission tickets going on sale at 4:15pm today.
Elsewhere other seats are being released on the Premier Lounge balcony, providing a further 162 tickets – details regarding this hospitality package will be confirmed tomorrow.
There will be 4,500 Birmingham City fans in attendance – this means that the full South Stand is required for away supporters and also the safety segregation that is required, due to the nature of the fixture. The allocation was provided to Birmingham City over a month ago and sold-out last week.
While Block 13 had been included in discussions, however instead releasing Blocks 4 and 5 release more tickets.
Block 12 cannot be used – this is required for segregation and is part of the South Stand area. While in the past the South Stand concourse has been split, this was against Clubs with considerably smaller attendances and without the same factors involved in the fixture and without the necessity for comparable segregation and safety operations. (E.g. Gillingham bringing 495 in 2014 when part of the South Stand was used for home fans, or Crewe Alexandra bringing 1472 for the JPT Area Final)
Due to the limited availability, charity vouchers and Sky Blues in the Community vouchers are not redeemable.
The Club has thoroughly explored all possible avenues to open up any other areas with the Arena, and it is not possible to do so for safety and access reasons.
Therefore, once these tickets are sold the game will be sold-out - there will be no availability on the day.
