INTERVIEW: Ben Wilson on Swansea City draw and record-breaking Sky Blues clean sheet

Ben Wilson says he wants more and more clean sheets after becoming the first Sky Blues goalkeeper to keep 18 clean sheets in a single campaign.

The 30-year-old shotstopper still has six games left to build on his record, and added another to his tally with City's goalless draw with Swansea City at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Speaking to the media after breaking the record, Wilson thanked his teammates for this hard work.

On the result and the performance:

"It’s mixed emotions. We’ve dropped a place but gained a point. It’s a funny feeling today.

"It was important not to lose. We don’t have a great record again Swansea. It’s impressive to get a draw here, credit to all the lads, we came and we all did our jobs and played well.

"We had a plan and we limited them to few chances, it’s just a shame we couldn’t take one of those chances."

On the missed chances:

"Gustavo Hamer puts them past me in training all the time, maybe that’s my fault. Nine times out of ten I would back him to score those.

"It’s so important that we use this. We have bounced back from last week and now we’ve given ourselves something to build on. We’ll take the positives and try to move forward from here. We can gather momentum from this."

On breaking the clean sheet record:

"I have come away with another clean sheet and I made a few saves. I’m there to be called upon. I take some positivity from that.

"I did wonder if I’d ever get there. Credit to all the lads who have been fantastic from day one. I want more and more and these clean sheets have helped to put us into a good position."

His aims for the rest of the season:

"For myself, it’s one game at a time and the points are more important. That’s what we need.

"Luckily, teams around us are slipping up. Our hopes are still high and we build on that going into Monday."
