CLASSICS: QPR 1-2 Sky Blues

Michael Mifsud was on target for the Sky Blues at Loftus Road...

13 April 2023

On 6 November 2007, the Sky Blues recorded a memorable away win at Loftus Road, against Saturday's opponents Queens Park Rangers.

City arrived in West London having won their last two away fixtures against the R's and with striker Michael Mifsud in fine form, having scored 11 goals already that season.

However, it was the home side who took the lead just after the break thanks to a long-range strike by new signing Akos Buzsaky.

Mifsud responded shortly after to round the goalkeeper and slide home a leveler from a tight angle before the Sky Blues found a last-gasp winner from the head of Kevin Kyle.

Sky Blues XI that day: Konstantopoulos, McNamee (Hughes 90), De Zeeuw, Turner, Hall, Osbourne, Doyle, Tabb, Mifsud, Adebola, Best (Kyle 75).

Subs not used: Marshall, Ward, Cairo.

Goals: Mifsud 61, Kyle 90.

Attendance: 11,922
