In their secong outing of the season, Dempster's side were beaten 2-1 away from home by an in-form Charlton Athletic U21 side, a result that was followed by a further defeat against Millwall.

But last time out, Dempster's side bounced back with a 2-0 win over Crewe Alexandra at the Mornflakes Stadium.

Opposition season so far:

Sheffield Wednesday U21s have started their Professional Development League campaign with a string of disappointing results, and have not tasted victory since the opening day.

That opening day saw them beat Swansea City, despite being a man down from the 44th minute, thanks to a late goal from David Agbontohoma.

However, since then, Wednesday's youngster have fallen to five consecutive defeats. They have been beaten 4-1 twice, by both Burnley and Reading, and were beaten 5-0 in a home defeat against Charlton.

The poor run also saw them fall to a narrow defeat agaisnt Bristol City, with the deciding goal coming deep into stoppage time.

Despite their form, Wednesday boast some talented young starts, such as Agbontohoma (formerly of Southampton) and Bailey-Tye Cadamarteri (son of former Huddersfield striker, Danny).

Sheffield Wednesday U21s last four:

Sheffield Wednesday 1-4 Burnley

Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Bristol City

Reading 4-1 Sheffield Wednesday

Sheffield Wednesday 0-5 Charlton Athletic

"Sheffield Wednesday are really going to ask us questions. There are never any easy games at this level of Academy football.

"We will need to show that we have prepared probably and we must then make a really good account of ourselves."
