NEWS: Matchday memorial game against Burnley in October

5 September 2022

Coventry City will be remembering fans who have recently passed away when we play Burnley next month.

The game versus Burnley on Saturday 8th October (3pm Kick Off) at the Coventry Building Society Arena has been designated for tributes to be paid.

The last tribute game was against Preston North End in February, with tributes previously planned for the postponed home game against Rotherham United in August.

Fans who wish to remember a Sky Blues supporter who has passed away recently are asked to e-mail the name of the supporter, along with an image if they wish, to:

matchday@ccfc.co.uk

Names and photos will be shown on the scoreboard at half-time, while names will also feature in the matchday programme. Names/photos already submitted for the Rotherham game will automatically be carried over for the game against Burnley.

To ensure these can be displayed on the screen and in the programme, supporters are required to send these to us by 5pm on Tuesday 4th October. Any submissions after this time unfortunately cannot be included.

Club Chaplain Kieran Joseph will lead a 10-15 minute service in the memorial garden on the day from 1:30pm which will remember those that we have lost, and family and friends are invited to join.

While any tributes to former players and staff will continue to take place at games where necessary, tributes to fans who are sadly no longer with us will largely be focused around these designated memorial fixtures rather than being match-by-match.
