INTERVIEW: Jamie Allen previews Norwich City trip

The midfielder looks ahead to this weekend's clash...

Sky Blues midfielder Jamie Allen is looking forward to a regular run of games, starting with this weekend’s trip to Carrow Road.

City have played three fewer games than their opponents in the Championship this season, due to postponements to home fixtures in August.

With the Sky Blues now back playing at the Coventry Building Society Arena, Allen is looking to build some rhythm and consistency during this run of games, ahead of September's international break.

“The pitch situation wasn’t in our hands so there was nothing we could have done so from that point of view we’ve just kept thing as they were, and we’ve been waiting for our next game," he said.

“Thankfully the pitch is ready now and we can get playing games regular again and get that rhythm and consistency coming.

“Everyone knows the start of the season struggles we’ve had, that we haven’t been able to play, but if we didn’t stick together through that then we would’ve been in a difficult place.

“The lads are routing for each other and supporting each other and that’s all we can ask for, so as long as we stick together, I’m sure we will be fine.”

The Sky Blues will take on Dean Smith’s Norwich City this weekend, who were relegated from the Premier League last season.

Allen has acknowledged that it will be a difficult place to go, but he and his teammates are focused on finding a way to come away with all three points.

“We need to step up now and hopefully we can get something at Norwich," he continued.

“It’s a difficult place to go at any time but hopefully this weekend we can put on a good performance and come away with three points.

“I’d be more worried if we weren’t creating chances, we just need to put more away and keep the ball out of the net at the back, because we’re playing good football.

“I’ve been scrounging around for tap-ins and any type of goal, so hopefully I can get some goals myself and help the team more at the end of the pitch.”
