The story so far:

The young Sky Blues currently sit third in the Northern Section of the Professional Development League, after seven fixtures into the 2022/23 season.

John Dempster's side have picked up nine points, winning last time out against Barnsley at the Alan Higgs Centre, thanks to goals from Tom Costello and Will Bapaga.

A win for the Sky Blues against the Blades would see them close the gap on their opponents, as well as the top two in the PDL.

Sky Blues last five results:

  • Sky Blues 2-0 Barnsley
  • Birmingham City 3-0 Sky Blues
  • Sky Blues 1-2 Sheffield Wednesday
  • Crewe Alexandra 0-2 Sky Blues

Opposition season so far:

The Blades have won six, drawn one and lost two of their nine fixtures this season, opening a gap between them and the rest of the division.

United are also the highest scorers in the league with 17 goals scored, six of those coming for top scorer Louie Marsh.

Last time these two sides met, City picked up the three points in what proved to be a valuable win on their way to winning the Professional Development League.
