Jake Bidwell says it is on the Sky Blues to get their fans behind them on Saturday afternoon, as Coventry City play host to Burnley.

Mark Robins' side will welcome the Clarets to the Coventry Building Society Arena for a Championship clash in the West Midlands.

Bidwell says his teammates will head into the fixture with new-found confidence, after extending their unbeaten run to four games with their away draw at Bristol City last time out. They have also kept three consecutive clean sheets.

Speaking to the media on Friday morning, the left-back offered his thoughts on Saturday's opponents and the recent performances of his side.

On the recent run of form...

"We have built up some momentum over the last few weeks and it was nice to get the win last Saturday. That win gives us something to build on now and we're looking to push on and move forward.

"After the first few games we made a point of our lack of clean sheets. We adressed it. We now have a good solid base to build from and confidence will flow from that.

"We are on a bit of an unbeaten run now and we're looking forward to building on that.

"We always debrief the games and discuss what we can do better. We've put in a lot of hard work on the training ground. We couldn't get into a rythmn at the start of the season, through no fault of our own, but that did give us time to put in the work on the training ground.

"I think fans can see the work that we have been doing, as it is now paying off."

On his impressive start to the season...

"As a player, you need a consistent run of games to build your way into form. I've had a decent run in the side at the start of the season and, hopefully, that will continue and I can contribute towards some more positive results.

"Last season was the first time in my career that I wasn't playing regularly, but I knew that was going to be the case when I joined a team who were doing well mid-way through the season. I had to be patient and get used to the style of play.

"It took me some time but I am now really enjoying it. Hopefully I can help drive to club up the table."

On his role in the side...

"I am desperate to get that first goal for Coventry. It's something that I am focussing on.

"I have come close a couple of times this season and hopefully I can contribute at that end of the pitch soon, as well."

On getting back to the Coventry Building Society Arena...

"The win over Middlesbrough was great. You could see everyone was waiting such a long time for it, and the fans were right behind us.

"Thankfully, we got the win, and hopefully we can add to that this weekend.

On the tough test Burnley will pose...

"The fans will be right up for this one, again, but it is up to us get them going. We need to start well.

"Burnley are a decent side but we've not had these home games consistently yet and, looking back to the start the team had last year, we want to replicate that and get some good form going at home.

"Burnley have had big changes in the summer. They've completely revamped their style of play, so it will be a good test for us.

"We are on a good run at the moment and we will be looking to take the game to them, especially at home."
