Coventry City’s Junior Sky Blues event for the 2022/23 campaign will take place later in the season.
Traditionally the Party is held around Christmas, unfortunately due to the congested fixture schedule and first-team playing and training requirements as a consequence, there is no longer a date that the Party can be held during this period.
The Sky Blues had hoped to be able to hold a JSB event during the week commencing 19th December, when schools are on holiday in Coventry and Warwickshire, but this is now not possible due to the West Bromwich Albion game, postponed following the death of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, now being played on the evening of Wednesday 21st December.
This follows the home game against Swansea City on 17th December, and precedes fixtures against Sheffield United (A – 26th December), Cardiff City (H – 29th December) and Bristol City (H – 1st January).
For this reason, the Club is instead hoping to hold an exclusive event for Junior Sky Blues later in the season, details and the date of which will be confirmed in the New Year.
Coventry City Chief Executive Dave Boddy said:
“We’re disappointed that we are not able to hold the JSB Party at its traditional time this year.
“Unfortunately, due to the training needs for the players and the number of fixtures being played at this time, it has now not proved possible to do this.
“We are planning for an alternative JSB event later in the season which we hope will be an enjoyable day for our JSB Members, of which there are now nearly 4000, and will have details in the New Year.”
Young Sky Blues supporters will still be able to take part in fun activities and meet the players at our matchday Family Zone during December and January, while Father Christmas is due to visit over the festive period too – check our website ahead of each game for activity details.
