We take a look back at the day the Sky Blues beat Wigan Athletic 2-0 at the then-named Ricoh Arena...

On 8 August 2015, Coventry City welcomed Wigan Athletic to the then-named Ricoh Arena for a SkyBet League One fixture.

The Sky Blues welcomed 18-year-old striker Adam Armstrong on loan from Premier League club Newcastle United, for one of the most memorable debut performances in the club's history.

The teenager scored twice, either side of half-time, to fire Tony Mowbray's side to victory against a side who were pre-season favourites to win the division.

Bryn Morris also made his debut for the club, coming on from the bench.

City would go on to finish the season outside the play-off places in eighth, with Wigan winning the league with 87 points.

Coventry City: Lee Burge, Jordan Willis (Aaron Phillips 45), Sam Ricketts, Reda Johnson, Chris Stokes, Jim O'Brien, Romain Vincelot, John Fleck, Ruben Lameiras, (Bryn Morris 75), James Maddison, Adam Armstrong.

Subs: Reice Charles-Cook, Ryan Haynes, Aaron Martin, George Thomas.
