We take a look back at a classic meeting between Coventry City and their Tuesday night opponents...

On 24th February 2009, the Sky Blues welcomed Blackburn Rovers to the then-named Ricoh Arena for an FA Cup 5th Round Replay against Premier League opposition.

City had come agonisingly close to beating Rovers at Ewood Park ten days prior, when goals from Aron Gunnarsson and Michael Doyle put Chris Coleman's side 2-1 up heading into stoppage time, only for Chris Samba to find Blackburn a late leveller.

But the Sky Blues, who had beaten Rovers 4-1 at Ewood Park twelve months prior, would get what they deserved in the replay with Leon Best's goal firing them into the last eight of the competition.

The striker, wearing a mask due to a facial injury, nodded home the game's winning goal from Gunnarsson's cross.

City would go on to face Chelsea at home in the quarter-finals, where they exited the competition following a 2-0 defeat.

Goals: Best 59'.

Yellows: Gunnarsson 26', Ward 47', Westwood 90'.

Reds: None.

Attendance: 22,793.

Sky Blues XI: Kieran Westwood (GK); Stephen Wright, Elliott Ward, Ben Turner, Danny Fox; Jordan Henderson, Michael Doyle, Aron Gunnarsson, Freddy Eastwood (Robbie Simpson 87'); Leon Best, Clinton Morrison.

Unused subs: Andy Marshall; Marcus Hall, Guillaume Beuzelin, Ashley Cain, Isaac Osbourne, Kevin Thornton, Robbie Simpson.
