Job Title: Control Room Radio Operator
Department: Safety
Location: Coventry Building Society Arena
Reporting to: Head of Stewarding (CCFC) / Safety Officer (CBS Arena)
Hours of work: Home match days including evening, weekends and Bank Holidays

Coventry City Football Club is looking to recruit a Matchday Control Room Radio Operator to work on home matchdays.

Reporting to the Head of Stewarding and the Safety Officer, the successful candidate will work in a team of staff and ideally have some experience of working in a safety role previously.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

CONDUCT & COMPETANCIES:

To provide match day operation / liaison of Staff / stewards radio communications

We are looking for a proactive, alert, reliable match day control room 2way radio operator to work with control room staff taking radio calls from the stadium staff and supervisors pre, during and post-match.

To transfer messages where needed to the Safety team for their attention and await further instruction .

The role requires someone who is alert, vigilant and quick to respond and communicate messages to the safety staff and to contribute positively to the operations on match days and complete any associated paperwork/reports .

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Will report directly to the Safety Officer in charge of the Control Room.
  • Will observe the highest standards of Health & Safety and not do anything to prejudice the health and safety of himself/herself or any Club employee or visitor.
  • Will attend all training sessions as required and achieve a Level 2 NVQ in Spectator Safety.
  • Will attend the Stadium at given dates and times as directed by the Head of Stewarding.
  • Maintain a smart in appearance and abide by the Club’s dress code, wear the issued personal protective clothing and be in possession of the Club Steward Safety Briefing Document.
  • Will attend pre-and post-match briefing/debriefing sessions and ensure all information is understood.

  • Must be trustworthy and reliable.
  • A strong work ethic.
