The new hybrid pitch renovation is underway at Ryton Training Ground!
A significant 6-figure investment has been made by the Club into the Sky Blues pitches at the Sky Blue Lodge.
The main pitch at Ryton and the adjacent training area is undergoing a huge renovation which will see the Mixto hybrid surface installed, working with local company idverde, who are the sole supplier of Mixto.
Mixto is a reinforced natural hybrid surface, specifically designed to serve a variety of needs for sports surfaces. It consists of a synthetic and a natural grass component, where the artificial matrix is perfectly designed to better promote the initial germination, growth and development of the natural grass.
Mixto’s composite system creates the right conditions for perfect oxygenation, the permeability of the surface layer and an ideal air-water-soil balance, whilst also preventing the formation of muddy areas or waterlogging. Mixto also provides stability, permeability, and maximum safety for players.
The installation of the new pitch will also include new extensive drainage and new pop-up sprinklers.
The system has the capability to be moved if required, allowing for the pitch to be installed at another training site if the Sky Blues choose to develop a new training ground.
The Club’s second pitch at Ryton is also undergoing renovation, as seen above, as well as the banks at the top of the training ground, which are being levelled off.
