The Sky Blues came out 3-1 victors against Leamington in their first game of pre-season.
The home side took an early lead through Dan Turner, but Mark Robins’ side netted a trio of second-half strikes to seal the win.
Dan Turner gave Leamington the lead two minutes in, tapping home from close range.
The Sky Blues went close to levelling, ten minutes later, with an array of openings before the hosts broke away for a chance of their own, narrowly cleared off the line.
Gustavo Hamer carved open the next chance for City, plucking the ball out of the air and drilling a volley to force a save around the post.
Soon after, Hamer picked out an acute pass for Martyn Waghorn, but the striker was twice denied as City searched for an equaliser.
HALF-TIME: Leamington 1-0 Sky Blues
A tricky turn, followed by a surging run from Fabio Tavares kick-started the half, as the ball fell to Matty Godden whose strike was tipped wide of the sticks.
Tavares again broke forward with pace, this time with the ball falling at the feet of Ben Sheaf, but his strike from range flew over the bar.
Moments after, Godden cropped up in the box with a glancing header to put City back on level terms.
Godden doubled his tally a few minutes later, bundling the ball home to see the Sky Blues ahead for the first time in the game.
After a bright second-half cameo, Tavares added himself to the scoresheet as he latched onto Ryan Howley’s looping cross across goal.
