NEWS: Sunday deadline to receive away kit pre-orders before general sale

15 July 2022

The final day to pre-order the new 2022/23 away kit is this Sunday!

Orders placed by the end of the day on Sunday 17th July will be delivered to supporters before Thursday 21st July – the date when the new away kit will be available to buy in the Club Shop at Coventry Building Society Arena.

Any orders from Monday onwards will not be fulfilled before 21st July

This season’s away kit has been extremely popular and is based on the away shirt of the 1995/96 Premier League season, seeing a return of a purple striped shirt with thin yellow lines.

The purple stripes are created using three different bespoke remakes of stained-glass panels from City’s iconic Cathedral, which celebrates 60 years since its consecration this year.

The famous Hummel chevrons are also in yellow on each sleeve, while, unlike the 90s shirt, there is a round neck collar in dark purple and yellow.

The shorts are also dark purple with Hummel chevrons on the side, while socks are light purple with yellow chevrons and a dark purple trim.

Inside the neck, the words ‘You Want A Cathedral’ are printed – words from the song ‘In Our Coventry Homes’, often sung by Sky Blues supporters.

Shirts already pre-ordered will be received by supporters before 21st July.

Meanwhile, the away goalkeeper shirt is currently sold-out!

There will be no further away goalkeeper shirts available to pre-order, while they will not be available to buy this Thursday in the Shop either for this reason.

This season’s away goalkeeper kit, like other kits for this season, takes inspiration from Coventry’s famous Cathedral, which is celebrating 60 years since its consecration.

An enlarged section from a stained-glass window of Coventry Cathedral is used on the sleeves of the shirt to create a striking and unique geometric pattern, while using the colours from the Cathedral’s iconic Baptistry Window.

We will let fans know when the away goalkeeper shirt is back in stock.
