While the Coventry City squad have been in Spain training, work has been progressing on the pitch renovations at Ryton.
The synthetic carpet is now largely in place on pitch 1 at the Sky Blue Lodge, with only the boxes yet to be completed.
That follows the installation of drainage and new pop up sprinklers, with the grass then set to grow on pitch 1 next before it is ready for use by the squad.
Mixto is the surface being installed at Ryton - this is a reinforced natural hybrid surface, specifically designed to serve a variety of needs for sports surfaces. It consists of a synthetic and a natural grass component, where the artificial matrix is perfectly designed to better promote the initial germination, growth and development of the natural grass.
