The Sky Blues latest summer signing, Dermi Lusala told how he can’t wait to get started after agreeing to join City.
The defender, who joins City after departing Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur, links-up with the Sky Blues on a two-year deal.
This is Dermi’s first move since signing his professional contract with Spurs and he is relishing the opportunity he has been given at Coventry.
“I’m very happy.” Lusala said.
“It’s been a pleasure coming to Coventry and the city and club have been very good to me and the treatment I’ve received as well has been great.
“It’s a different environment to what I’ve been used to, but my new teammates are very good, and they’ve helped me a lot and I just can’t wait to get started and see what happens in the long-run.”
Lusala, who is predominantly a right-back, also spoke about how the opportunities given to youth at the club was one of the reasons behind his decision to join the club.
“My preferred position is right-back, but I can also play on the left, but I prefer the right. The type of game I play is up and down the line, I like to attack and defend.
“I feel like as a young player when you come to Coventry if you work hard, you get chances and it’s a good challenge for me and I can’t wait to get started.
“They were interested and once I saw that and knowing the history of the manager and giving chances to young players, I knew that I wanted to come here, and I feel it’s the right place for me to continue the development.
“I can’t wait to part of the 23s and help them as much as I can and keep performing and hopefully, I get the chance to make an impression on the first team.
“That’s the aim, but I’m just taking it day by day and working my way towards that.”
