OFFICIALS: Referee Watch Versus Blackpool

Andre Marriner will be the man in the middle...

8 February 2022

The EFL have confirmed that Andre Marriner will be the man in the middle of the Sky Blues clash with Blackpool tonight.

Mark Robins' side take on Blackpool in Sky Bet Championship action at the Coventry Building Society Arena, with kick-off scheduled for 7:45 pm.

It will be the first time that Marriner will be taking charge of a game involving the Sky Blues this season, with his last outing coming in January 2016 during City's 2-0 defeat against Burton Albion at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

This year will mark Marriner’s 19th season as a referee in the Football League and over that time period he has officiated 5 Sky Blues fixtures.

With Marriner in the middle, City have a record of:

Wins - 2
Draws - 1
Defeats - 2

So far, Marriner has awarded 54 yellow cards and three red cards in the 16 games he has officiated in the Championship, Premier League, Carabao Cup, and FA Cup this season.

Marriner will be assisted by Scott Ledger and Derek Eaton whilst Stephen Martin will act as the fourth official.
