NEWS: Coventry City announce partnership with #HerGameToo

4 February 2022

Coventry City are delighted to announce a new partnership with HerGameToo, which aims to raise awareness of, and combat, sexism in football.

We join a number of clubs from the EFL and beyond committing to the cause, creating further awareness to the hurdles faced in football by females.

The Sky Blues will kick-off the partnership with a female-led fans forum at the Sky Blue Tavern later this month, on Thursday 17th February at 6pm. This will see female supporters able to ask questions of and talk to representatives, from HerGameToo, Coventry City Girls FC and Coventry City.

#HerGameToo was founded by passionate female football fans who are committed to growing the campaign with the aim of fostering an ethos in football in which women are welcomed and respected equally.

The non-profit organisation aims to create awareness, educate, research, develop a strong sense of community and create strong relationships with clubs.

Further aims include creating strong relationships with club trusts and communities, having a presence at stadiums to build a more welcoming environment for young girls and women as well as continuing to campaign against sexism in football and online abuse. The Sky Blues will also show their support on social media and our website, as well as through branding on home matchdays.

The forum later in February will provide a safe space to discuss the experiences of female supporters in football and give opportunity to raise ways in which things can be improved for female fans. To book your place, click here.

Eve Ralph from #HerGameToo said: “Her Game Too are delighted to welcome Coventry City onboard as our latest partner club. We are really excited to continue to work together and support the plans the club has to ensure that the matchday experience is inclusive and welcoming for everyone.”

Dave Boddy, Chief Executive at Coventry City, added: “We are delighted to be partnering with Her Game Too.

“We have been talking with them for a while, and really wanted to make this a partnership that was different and more compared to how other Clubs have worked with them.

“Our partnership with Her Game Too highlights our commitment to making football a game for everyone, and we look forward to working with the campaign to both support them and to support our female supporters.”
