INTERVIEW: Robins - Stay Off The Pitch!

28 February 2022

Manager Mark Robins had a clear message in his post-match interview following the Preston North End game - 'Stay Off The Pitch'.

A number of fans entered the field of play late on during Saturday's match, and Robins strongly warned fans not to go onto the pitch.

Robins said:

"The people that came onto the pitch deserve everything they have coming to them because that is sacrosanct. Stay off the pitch!

"You earn the right to be on that football pitch; they haven’t earned the right to be on it. Stay off it. It doesn’t help anybody.

"That isn’t what contributed to the added time, that was because of the fouls, the sending offs and all those things that culminated in what was added on, not the other bits and pieces. That isn’t it.

"I am not happy about that. They have to stay off the pitch.

"It’s ridiculous and it’s happening more and more frequently and they shouldn’t be allowed back in because that’s a disgrace.

"It’s an absolute non-starter, a criminal offence and they deserve everything they get.”

Coventry City takes the safety of supporters, players and staff extremely seriously and Coventry City has a zero-tolerance approach to any supporters attempting to come onto the pitch at home and away matches.
