NEWS: Mark Robins provides injury update on Kyle McFadzean and the rest of his Sky Blues squad

The Sky Blues will take on Reading in Berkshire on Saturday afternoon (3pm)...

Sky Blues boss Mark Robins has confirmed that defender Kyle McFadzean is facing a spell on the sidelines after picking up a calf injury during the World Cup break.

McFadzean will be one of three City players unavailable for Saturday afternoon's clash with Reading at the Select Car Leasing Stadium (2pm), the Manager confirmed. Tyler Walker and Matty Godden will also be sidelined with injuries of their own.

However, Fankaty Dabo, Martyn Waghorn and captain Liam Kelly are now said to be "in the mix" ahead of this weekend's fixture.

"It’s going to be a fair length of time that Kyle is out for," explained Robins.

"There is a tear in his calf and he has to overcome that but, knowing Kyle, he will fight to get back earlier than the prognosis.

"Matty [Godden] is going back to see the specialist and, hopefully, he will be given the green light soon to start to kick on," Robins continued.

"Hopefully, the boot will then come off and we will be looking at the end of January for Matty to be back in the fold.

"However, Tyler [Walker] will not be available for a while. He is improving slowly but not quickly enough.

"Tyler has not been involved in anything since the start of the break. It’s been a tough period and, had we not had the break, we’d have struggled.

"Meanwhile, Fankaty Dabo and Martyn Waghorn are back in training and are now in the mix to play against Reading on Saturday."
