Coventry-born Sky Blues youngster Shay Young says the Club's Under-18s players are looking forward to showing their quality against starlets from Premier League side Southampton.
Under-18s stars from the two Clubs will meet on Saturday afternoon at Leamington FC's Your Co-Op Community Stadium for an FA Youth Cup third round clash.
The game will offer City's young players the chance to go toe-to-toe with youngsters from a Category 1 Academy, operated by a Premier League club.
And progressions in the competition could see them land even more big experiences at a crucial time for their development.
"It's a massive opportunity and we're playing a great side in Southampton," said Young, looking ahead to the weekend.
"We know what we're capable of as a group and we're looking forward to going out in front of a crowd and showing people.
"It's brilliant for us to play against a Premier League side's Academy. Even at Academy level, you want to play against the best players," he continued.
"You also want to play in the big occasions, and that is what we're going to be doing on Saturday.
"We are well aware of Southampton and we know they're a strong side, but we also know that we can go out and perform brilliantly on the day.
"We're in mixed form," he said. "Our results haven't reflected our performances of late, but we know that on our day we can match anyone.
"We're a good side going forward; we're fast and we counterattack well."
He added: "I think it's going to be a really good game."
