Eric Odhiambo is excited to see how his Sky Blues Under-18s players perform against Premier League academy Southampton when the two sides meet in the FA Youth Cup on Saturday.
Both Clubs will meet in the FA Youth Cup for the second time in three seasons, after Saints came out 3-0 winners at St Mary's Stadium.
This time around, the Sky Blues will be looking for revenge as they lock horns with the Category 1 academy in Leamington.
The FA Youth Cup third round weekend remains one of the most exciting dates on the Under-18s calendar, but Odhiambo has been keeping his player's feet on the ground.
"We're trying not to hype it up too much but it's hard for the players not to get a little bit carried away," he said, looking ahead to the Cup clash.
"That's part of the game, and these youngsters need to get used to these occasions as they look to further their careers, and this game will be really enjoyable in that sense.
"Southampton are a good team, a technical team; They have good players, some of whom are internationals.
"However, on the day, it is about who runs hard and who competes. We can only control what we do and, hopefully, that is putting a good performance together."
He added: "Hopefully we have a long cup run and we get more and more of these games."
