Ahead of this Wednesday's meeting between the Sky Blues and West Bromwich Albion, we take a look back at a classic match from the past...

On December 20th 2003, City welcomed the Baggies to Highfield Road for a Nationwide Division 1 clash.

Albion were top of the second divison, and were on their way back to the Premier League under manager Gary Megson, who twice guided the club back to the top flight.

West Brom started the day the better side with striker Rob Hulse missing two golden chances to put his side ahead before the break.

However, Eric Black's the Sky Blues grew into the game with Julian Joachim forcing a fine save from Russell Hoult, before seeing a strike that nestled in the net ruled out for offside.

But it was loanee Johnnie Jackson, being borrowed from Tottenham Hotspur, who stole the show when he lofted a last-gasp effort over Hoult and into the net in spectacular fashion.

City moved up to tweflth as West Brom left the door open for Norwich to leapfrog them at the top of the division.

Sky Blues: Gavin Ward; Stephen Warnock, Steve Staunton, Calum Davenport, Mo Konjic, Andy Whing (Richard Shaw 90'); Youssef Safri, Michael Doyle (Johnnie Jackson 87'), Yazid Mansouri; Julian Joachim, Andy Morrell (Patrick Suffo 77').

West Brom: Russell Hoult; Bernt Haas, Paul Robinson, Thomas Gaardsoe, Sean Gregan; Joost Volmer, Jason Koumas, James O'Connor, Ronnie Wallwork (Darren Moore 65'); Geoff Horsfield, Rob Hulse (Scott Dobie 58').

Goal(s): Johnnie Jackson 89'.
