Last time the Sky Blues came up against Reading at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, it was memorable encounter, with City coming away with all three points.
City were looking to complete the league double over the Royals and fell behind early on, when Lucas João opened the scoring.
The Sky Blues searched for a way back into the game and it came on the stroke of half-time as Gustavo Hamer's shot was diverted in by Dom Hyam, as the centre-back drew City level against his former employers.
Following the restart, it was Hyam's defensive partner, Michael Rose who put Mark Robins' side in front, heading home from a corner for his first goal of the season.
Reading would equalise ten minutes later, but after falling to ten-men, City made the extra man count and it was Ian Maatsen who scored the third and final goal for the Sky Blues.
