Sky Blues boss Mark Robins says his players are ready to return to Championship action following Wednesday night's Carabao Cup exit.

A youthful Coventry side was beated by Bristol City last time out, ten days on from their last competitive fixture.

They head to Millwall with one point on the board, after picking up a respectable point away at Sunderland on the opening day.

“We’ve had a day off (on Thursday), so it was a recovery day and we're back in [on Friday] morning, ready to train and prepare for the Millwall game before we travel," he said.

“We expect the same as we always get from Millwall. They’re a really hard-working team, as you’d expect, and they’ve got a demanding crowd."

Robins has also acknowledged the firepower possessed by the Lions as they aim to improve on their impressive ninth-placed finish last term.

“They’ve changed their midfield dynamic wholly with [Jamie] Shackleton and [George] Honeyman, and they’ve still got George Saville there, who is a good player," he continued.

“They’ve got some really good players and they’re still looking to sign others, and that just shows you the power of the league.

"You’ve got clubs alongside us really flexing their muscles this year, because they’ve got the capability of adding to the squad they’ve already had.

“It’s a really expensive division to be in and we have to cut out cloth accordingly, which is why I said this season will be a difficult season.

“When people ask what I expect this season, I can’t predict it! We’ve got to see where we are first.

He added: "You have to work your way into a season and there is nothing more true than that this year.”

On the injury front, the manager offered an update on midfielder Callum O'Hare, who has sustained a hamstring injury.

He said: "Hopefully we can get him back quicker than predicted but we'll see later down the line."
