Ahead of the Carabao Cup meeting between the Sky Blues and Bristol City, we take a look back at a classic match from the past...

On 6 November 2021, Coventry welcomed Bristol City to the CBS Arena for a classic meeting between the two sides.

The first key moments of the game came when Sky Blues loanee Ian Maatsen was shown a straight red card for a last-man foul on Callum O’Dowda. That allowed Chris Martin to fire home from the spot and sent Mark Robins' side into the interval a goal down.

After the break, it was a penalty that helped Coventry to draw level when Viktor Gyokeres was fouled in the area, allowing Matty Godden to fire home from the spot.

But Robins' side were behind again on the hour mark when Andreas Weimann slotted the ball home from close range, leaving the home side with a mountain to climb.

Callum O'Hare brought Coventry level with 15 minutes to go, setting up a grandstand finish, before a Liam Kelly ball through the defence found Godden who, from a tight angle, fired over Daniel Bentley to win the game.
