Ahead of the meeting between the Sky Blues and Preston North End, we take a look back at a classic match from the past...

On January 10th 2013, Coventry welcomed Preston North End to the then-named Ricoh Arena with both sides fighting for a place in the Northern Area Final of the EFL Trophy.

City had drafted in striker Leon Clarke only days prior and were fighting for promotion back to the Championship under Mark Robins.

The game started in ideal fashion, when midfielder Steve Jennings forced home the opener at the far post to give his side the lead.

But from there the game turned on it's head with goals from Luke Foster and Stuart Beavon leaving Robins's side a goal down with just ten minutes left on the clock.

However, late drama was coming, sparked by a nicely-struck effort by captain Carl Baker, two minutes into added time, that squeezed past Simon Simonsen at the near post.

And City would convert their comeback into a turnaround deep into stoppage time when Clarke, making his home debut, saw a saved effort from range land nicely for him to place into the corner.

The Sky Blues progressed to the Northern Area Final but were unable to book their place at Wembley following a 3-2 aggregate defeat against Crewe Alexandra.
