CLASSICS: Rotherham United 0-1 Sky Blues

We look back at a classic meeting between the two sides...

Ahead of the meeting between the Sky Blues and Rotherham United, we take a look back at a classic match from the past...

On April 15th 2021, City travelled to the AESSEAL New York Stadium knowing that a win could all but secure their place in the Championship for the following season.

Mark Robins' side were three points above the dotted line but could see that buffer vanish with defeat against Rotherham.

Tyler Walker and Liam Kelly both came close to making themselves the hero, both denied by stellar saves by a Millers goalkeeper in Viktor Johansson who impressed on the day.

Rotherham were playing their second game in just 48 hours due to a fixture pile-up, and Paul Warne's side saw their survival chances dealt an almighty blow when Leo Ostigard nodded home the game's only goal.

But City were deserving of their victory with goalkeeper Ben Wilson having completed the 90 minutes without making a save.

After the game, Robins said: "It gives us a boost. It's huge and it gives us confidence."
