Young Sky Blues supporter has been selected to represent Great Britain Under-17s in the European Nations Water Polo tournament.
Amélie Perkins is only 14 years-old, but after excelling in her age group, she has been called up to represent Great Britain, as she looks set to earn her first international appearance.
The tournament gets underway in Brno, Czech Republic, at the end of this month, in what is a remarkable achievement to be called-up for the Under-17s despite only being 14.
Amélie currently plays junior and senior water polo for the City of Coventry Water Polo Club, where she trains several times a week, and also, she has represented the West Midlands in national tournaments in all age groups from Under-15 to Under-19.
However, one of the downsides to her success is the cost incurred for Amélie to travel the country and the world, as all her journeys are self-funded, including her call-up to the European Nations tournament in Czech Republic later this month.
As a football club we will be supporting Amélie by holding a collection around the corporate lounges against vs AFC Bournemouth as we look to help her get to Czech Republic.
