NEWS: Fans reminded not to enter the pitch at final home game

28 April 2022

Coventry City are reminding fans not to enter the pitch at the end of the final home game of the season against Huddersfield Town at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

The Sky Blues players and coaching staff will remain on the pitch at the end of the game to thank fans for their support during the 2021/22 season.

However, the players and staff will only be able to do this if supporters remain in the stands. If any fans are on the pitch, this will not be able to happen.

Entering the pitch is a criminal offence, and fans who do so face police and court action, as well as a ban from Coventry City matches.

Manager Mark Robins said:

“Having our fans back in the stadium has been fantastic. You cannot underestimate the impact that the SBA has had on this season.

“We have all felt the difference that our supporters have made, and we want to thank them for that support at the end of our game against Huddersfield.

“To allow us to do that, I urge everyone to stay in the stands.

“This is something I’ve spoken about before, and I re-iterate that all supporters should stay in the stands and not enter the pitch, this will allow the players and staff to show our appreciation, and for everyone to enjoy the occasion.”
