Eric Black’s side began the 2003/04 season at Highfield Road with a League Cup First Round tie against third tier Posh and a 2-0 victory sent the majority of the 8,280 crowd home happy and see City progress to a second-round clash with Spurs.
The two goals came in the space of four second half minutes, each from a striker netting on his Sky Blues debut, having joined the club that summer.
City would go on to face Posh for a second time that season in the FA Cup triumphing again, this time 2-1 in January 2004.
