City currently have four players out on loan…

14 September 2021

We take a look at how those players currently away from Coventry got on on this past weekend in their respective leagues.

Beginning in Sky Bet League Two, Danny Cashman was introduced into the action in the 71st minute of Rochdale’s match with Tranmere Rovers, with the striker earning the Dale their second successive win when he fired into the bottom corner with six minutes remaining at Spotland to fire his loan side into the play-offs.

Speaking after the game Cashman was delighted to be the man who gave Rochdale their first home win of the season.

“It’s an unreal feeling, I just remember Bees (Jake Beesley) flicking it on and touched it down with my thigh. I saw the defender coming in on my left, so I did a quick right foot poke into the corner and running to the crowd, it was an unreal feeling all round.

“There is no better feeling, as a striker myself, the feeling of scoring you can’t beat especially at home in front of your own crowd, the boys all loved it and congratulated me and more importantly we got the three points."

In the National League Will Bapaga’s Grimsby Town continued their unbeaten start to the season by coming from behind to win against last season’s play-off finalists Torquay United although Bapaga was an unused sub for the Mariner’s trip to Plainmoor, he will be hoping for minutes in tonight’s game with Wrexham.

Jack Burroughs played the opening 73 minutes in Ross County’s match with Celtic at Parkhead where Malky Mackay’s team proved a stern test for the opening hour before going down 3-0 to leave The Staggies in eleventh place in the Scottish Premiership.

Finally, Tom Billson is back at Sky Blue Lodge rehabilitating from the injury he picked up on the opening day of the season whilst on loan at Scunthorpe United.
