LOAN WATCH: Cashman scores again!

Forward among three Sky Blues that started this weekend...

We take a look at how the players currently away from the Sky Blue Lodge have got on this weekend.

Starting in Sky Bet League Two, Danny Cashman’s winner last week earned the forward a start for Rochdale on Saturday at Mansfield and he showed his worth, scoring for a second successive week as the Dale earned a point in Nottinghamshire.

Cashman’s side took the lead when midfielder Matt Done won back possession and ran down the wing, crossing for Cashman to calmly slot the ball past Mansfield ‘keeper Nathan Bishop in the 50th minute.

Danny Johnson equalised for the home side with 18 minutes to go to see Rochdale earn a point and go eighth in the table, outside the play offs on goal difference.

Rochdale's next game sees them face Premier League Burnley in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.

In the National League Will Bapaga made his second start of the season for Grimsby Town, playing the full 90, as they beat Eastleigh 2-0 at Blundell Park.

Michee Efete gave the Mariners the lead before Bapaga, starting up front, was denied by a superb save by Eastleigh ‘keeper Joe McDonnell with Ben Fox finding the net in 74th minute to ensure the Lincolnshire side’s unbeaten start to the season continued. Bapaga earned a penalty late in the game, but Grimsby failed to convert and it remained at 2-0.

In the Scottish Highlands, Ross County earned a point at home to unbeaten Hearts with City’s Jack Burroughs playing the whole game at Dingwall.

Liam Boyce gave the visitors the lead, but Ross County equalised just two minutes later in the 11th minute, with The Staggies taking the lead in the final minute of the first half when Regan Charles-Cook assisted Blair Spittal for the midfielder’s second of the game.

Stephen Kingsley’s second half free kick left County to settle for a point that keeps them 11th in the Scottish Premiership.

Meanwhile, Tom Billson is continuing his rehabilitation with the Sky Blues after he suffered a knee injury out on loan at Scunthorpe United last month.
