NEWS: Coventry City Girls FC our guests this Saturday!

22 October 2021

Coventry City and Sky Blues in the Community will welcome their partner club Coventry City Girls FC to Saturday’s game against Derby County.

It is around 6 years since the partnership between the three organisations was officially launched, and has seen them work closely together, with Coventry City Girls FC proudly wearing the Sky Blues badge.

Coventry City Girls FC is an FA charter standard club, run by volunteers that work tirelessly to raise funds, manage teams and ensure all FA standards are met.

They were founded in 1995 and now have expanded to 14 teams ranging from Under-9 to Under-18 who play in the Coventry & Warwickshire league, and also an adult first-team who play in the West Midlands League.

Laina Tebbutt, who is chair of Coventry City Girls and Women FC, is now also a trustee of Sky Blues in the Community.

Saturday will see our partnership continue, as Coventry City Girls are welcomed to the Coventry Building Society Arena for a bucket collection prior to the Sky Bet Championship game to help raise money for the CCGFC.

Players and parents from Coventry City Girls FC will be outside the Arena from 1:30pm up until kick-off and all donations are welcome. Players and officials from the club will also be parading the pitch at half-time.
