Ahead of City’s clash with Tony Mowbray’s Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in the Sky Bet Championship on Saturday, we take a trip down memory lane and remember a famous victory against our opponents…
The Sky Blues arrived in Lancashire in the bottom three with Rovers sat just outside in 17th.
After a goalless first half City took the lead when a Belgian defender set up the Sky Blues’ number seven to break the deadlock nine minutes into the second half.
Roy Hodgson’s team went in search of an equaliser and youngster Kevin Davies assisted future City man Tim Sherwood to level for Rovers in the 73rd minute.
City wouldn’t be level for long however as within a minute the visitors were back ahead as the ‘other’ striker joined his partner on the score sheet and earning the Sky Blues the three points they needed to leapfrog Rovers and escape the relegation zone!
However, what we want to know is how well do you remember the Sky Blues side from that day? Can you name the starting eleven and the substitutes?
You have 10 minutes to name the full matchday squad, good luck!
