Attacking midfielder Callum O’Hare shared his desire to extend the Sky Blues’ impressive home record in the SkyBet Championship against Derby County this weekend.

Speaking ahead of City’s clash with Wayne Rooney’s side tomorrow, O’Hare emphasised that the Sky Blues are keen to pick up the three points in front of an expected crowd of over 22,000.

“We can’t wait!” O’Hare stated.

“Especially after what happened on Wednesday night, we just want to put it right, put in a good performance and get the result.

“It’s what everyone wants, it’s what we play football for, so to see all of the fans there singing and chanting is perfect.”

Despite Wednesday’s defeat at Preston coming as a disappointment to O’Hare, the 23-year-old affirmed his faith in the Sky Blues’ ability to compete at the top end of the league table this season.

“We were 1-0 up, so it was disappointing to end up losing. I think that it was just a poor second half and we’ve got to just move on from it now and try to pick up the points on Saturday.

“You can see what we’ve done this season, we have played great football, we’re picking up results. I don’t see why we can’t stay there; we have a great team.”

O’Hare also highlighted the role of the home fans in driving on his side on the pitch, with the Sky Blues’ highest home attendance of the season so far expected at the Coventry Building Society Area against Derby.

“We believe that even if we go a goal down, that we can win, but when you can hear the fans pushing you on it’s always a boost.

“It will be a tough game, they’ve obviously been unfortunate and will be looking to get as many points as they can, but so are we.

“We’ve just got to go out there and try to win.”
