BOYLESPORTS: Coventry All The Rage As Promotion Odds Crumble Into 4/1 From 12/1

15 October 2021

Coventry City's principal partner BoyleSports look ahead to this weekend's away game against Blackburn Rovers...

Coventry City are being well backed to continue a strong run in the Championship when they resume their promising campaign with a trip to Ewood Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Sky Blues can go into the 3pm kick-off with optimism having leapfrogged promotion-chasing Fulham thanks to a 4-1 victory before the international break which took Mark Robins’ side to third in the table.

Only Bournemouth have returned a higher points total than Coventry’s 22 from the opening eleven games this season and BoyleSports have slashed the chances of Premier League football next season into 4/1 from 12/1 at the start of the campaign, while the prospect of the Sky Blues going up as Champions have fallen gradually from 50/1 down to 14/1 following their strong start.

The visitors are 6/4 favourites to boost their promotion credentials with another victory at Ewood Park, where Coventry are unbeaten in five visits since 1997 in a run that has included three draws and two victories.

The betting also points to another goal for Swedish forward Viktor Gyokeres, who goes into the weekend just one goal short from being top of the scoring charts.

He has been responsible for seven of Coventry’s last twelve goals and has been clipped slightly into 15/8 from 2/1 to add to his tally against Blackburn, while the chances of him breaking the deadlock in the match have shortened into 11/2 from 6/1.

Lawrence Lyons, spokesperson for BoyleSports said: “Coventry have been the biggest movers of the season so far in the race for promotion having been backed all the way down to 4/1 from 12/1 before they kicked off against Nottingham Forest. A trip to Ewood Park coming out of the international break isn’t easy, but support behind the Sky Blues continues to gather momentum and punters are obviously confident they can pick up where they left off.”
