The EFL have confirmed that Jeremy Simpson will oversee the Sky Blues’ match with Bristol City this Saturday.
Mark Robins’ side take on the Robins in the Sky Bet Championship at the Coventry Building Society Arena, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00pm.
It will be the first time that Simpson has taken charge of a game involving the Sky Blues this season, with his last outing coming in April 2021 when City lost 3-0 at Queens Park Rangers in the Sky Bet Championship.
This year will mark Simpson's eleventh season as a referee in the Football League and over that period he has officiated 11 Sky Blues fixtures since overseeing City’s 2-1 home defeat to Scunthorpe United in November 2012.
With Simpson in the middle, City have a record of:
Won – 2
Drawn – 5
Lost – 4
This season so far, Simpson has awarded 30 yellow cards in the 9 games he has officiated across the Sky Bet Championship and Sky Bet League Two.
Simpson will be assisted by Lee Venamore and Natalie Aspinall whilst Geoff Eltringham will act as the fourth official.
