City opened the scoring through Jordan Shipley after 16 minutes, then Kyle McFadzean doubled the lead just before the half-time break.
McFadzean turned the ball into his own net to make the scores 2-1, before Dom Hyam restored the two goal difference on the turn of the hour.
It was the start of a manic ten minutes for the Sky Blues which saw Callum O'Hare and Matty James also get their names onto the scoresheet, before Tyler Walker rounded off the victory with a sixth goal after 84 minutes.
The win saw the Sky Blues say goodbye to their temporary St Andrew's in style, ahead of the return to Coventry next season, and a season double over the London side
City ended the Championship campaign on 55 points and in 16th place in the table, securing their highest finish in the league pyramid since the 2005/06 season!
