Mental Health Coordinator for Sky Blues in the Community, Robbie Chandler, presented to 150 local General Practitioners at a Coventry and Warwickshire Clinical Commissioning Group Primary Care teaching session.
Robbie presented information around the new programme launched by Sky Blues in the Community, MENtalk, which supports men across Coventry and Warwickshire with their mental health and wellbeing.
Feedback from the clinicians around Sky Blues in the Community’s MENtalk initiative was overwhelmingly positive, with Dr Maria Ceurstemont, GP & Primary Care Educational Programme lead, stating:
“This initiative will reduce the stigma around mental health and allow men to access help in a supportive and accessible environment. In addition to the usual NHS services, I will certainly be sharing this scheme with my patients.”
Sky Blues in the Community are pleased to announce that Coventry and Warwickshire Clinical Commissioning Group recognise MENtalk in their ‘GP Gateway’, which is designed to support GP’s in offering people the right care, at the right time, in the right place.
Feedback from the men that have attended MENtalk sessions has also been incredibly positive:
