VACANCIES: Coventry City's 'Kickstart' scheme opportunities now live!

Coventry City's Kickstart scheme vacancies are now live and available to apply for - please see below details and to check if you are eligible.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We have a number of vacancies as part of the Government’s Kickstart Scheme:

  • Grounds Person x 2
  • Media Assistant
  • Operations Assistant
  • Pre-Academy Co-ordinator

Hours of work: 25 hours per week and must be prepared to work evenings and weekends, if required.

Coventry City Football Club is recruiting for a number of roles to work at the Ryton Training Ground, Leamington Road, Ryton on Dunsmore and at the Academy based at the Alan Higgs Centre, Coventry.

These vacancies are only open to those eligible to join the Government’s Kickstart Scheme - you must be 18-24 years old and you must apply through your local Job Centre.

This is an exciting and rare opportunity to join a professional football club and gain experience of working in a football environment, with the possibility of gaining an Apprenticeship after working with us for 6 months.

At this stage we are inviting you to register your interest.

Each vacancy will be advertised in full at the local Job Centre and on Coventry City’s website shortly.

  • Willing to work as part of a team
  • Must be trustworthy and reliable.
  • A strong work ethic.

Due to the nature of these roles, only candidates over 18 will be considered.

Future Opportunities

There may be an opportunity to continue your training via an Apprenticeship upon satisfactory completion of your 6 months’ employment.

This post requires Enhanced Criminal Records Checks and checks against the Barred Lists and is exempt from Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974).  Therefore, all convictions including spent convictions that have not been subject to filtering by the DBS should be declared.

NEXT STEPS:

  • To apply for these roles you must speak to your local Jobcentre who will arrange for you to speak to your Work Coach.
  • The Jobcentre will ensure that you are eligible for the Kickstart Scheme and tell you how to apply.
  • Interviews will be carried out in June and the roles will be offered to the first suitable candidate interviewed.
  • All positions will commence w/c 5th July 2021

Please note that once a position is filled, it will be withdrawn. You are therefore advised to submit your application as soon as possible.

 

ABOUT THE KICKSTART SCHEME:

The Kickstart Scheme is a new programme launched by the Government to fund new job roles for 16-24 years olds who are currently in receipt of Universal Credit. 

The programme is aimed at preventing young people who are currently unemployed facing long term unemployment.

The roles at Coventry City Football Club are for applicants aged 18-24 only. You must be in receipt of Universal Credit and meet the Job Centre eligibility requirements.

Applications received from applicants outside the age group states, who do not meet the Kickstart Schemes’ eligibility requirements will not be considered.
