TRANSFER: Simon Moore joins Coventry City!

3 July 2021

Coventry City are delighted to confirm the signing of goalkeeper Simon Moore!

The 31-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the Club until June 2024.

Moore joins the Sky Blues, subject to EFL and FA approval, following the expiry of his contract with Sheffield United

The experienced shot stopper began his professional career with Brentford in 2009, with his breakthrough season being the 2012/13 campaign when he made 52 appearances in all competitions and helped them reach the League One play-offs. In total, he played 77 times for the Bees.

Newly promoted Premier League side Cardiff City signed Moore the following season, spending time on loan at Bristol City during his first season with the Bluebirds. He remained in the Welsh capital until 2016, making 25 appearances for them before being bought by Sheffield United.

Moore made a total of 70 appearances for the Blades and was part of the squad that was promoted from League One to the Premier League while in the Steel City, appearing twice in the top-flight in 2019-20 and being included in the League One team of the year in 2016-17.

Manager Mark Robins said:

“We’re very pleased to welcome Simon to Coventry City.

“Simon is a very good goalkeeper and is a great professional with a top attitude, who will strengthen our options in this area.

“He brings great experience too, with time in the Premier League and the Championship under his belt.

“We look forward to working with him.”
