NEWS: New Ticket Office and Club Shop to be cashless

Cash Turnstiles will continue to be available on matchdays...

22 July 2021

Coventry City’s new Ticket Office and Club Shop will both be cashless operations when they open.

Fans will not be able to pay using cash, bringing the Club Shop and Ticket Office in line with the operations on the food and drink kiosks and bars at the Coventry Building Society Arena next season.

This is in line with government guidelines which strongly advise that organisations encourage cashless payments to avoid cross contamination.

However, cash turnstiles will continue to be available on Coventry City matchdays.

Coventry City Chief Executive Dave Boddy said:

“Over the course of the last 18 months, the world has moved at an even greater pace towards being cashless, and we want to make sure we keep up with that change and progress.

“The stadium concourse and bars will be cashless and it therefore made sense to replicate that approach in our new Club Shop and Ticket Office, having had a successful period with cashless in the Club Shop since the pandemic.

“We will however continue to provide cash turnstiles on matchdays, as we know that this is a convenient ticket purchasing method for fans and works as a Club in us providing a quick and easy way to buy on a matchday.

“We hope that by making this change in our Club Shop and Ticket Office, the service we give to our supporters can be quicker, more efficient and safer in our new unit.”

Details regarding the opening of the new Club Shop and Ticket Office will be confirmed soon.
