Coventry City will face Wolverhampton Wanderers in a pre-season friendly at the Coventry Building Society Arena!
The game will take place against the Premier League side on Sunday 1st August, with kick-off at 1pm.
It will be the Sky Blues’ first game back in Coventry since 2019, at the newly re-named Coventry Building Society Arena, and the first time that City have had a home pre-season friendly at the stadium since 2011.
Details regarding match arrangements, ticket arrangements and capacity for the West Midlands derby will be confirmed in due course.
Dave Boddy, Coventry City Chief Executive, said:
“We are delighted to confirm this friendly against Wolverhampton Wanderers on the 1st August, and pleased to welcome Premier League opposition to Coventry.
“This will be our first game back at the Coventry Building Society Arena ahead of the season beginning and our home game against Nottingham Forest in the Sky Bet Championship.
“The fact that it is our first pre-season home game at the stadium since 2011 is a sign of the excellent relationship that now exists between us and Wasps.
“This will act as an important test event for both ourselves and supporters as we prepare for the season ahead, with both the return to the stadium and our first game with supporters following the pandemic.
“It is also important for Mark Robins and the players to get used the stadium and also the pitch, which has undergone renovation ahead of the new season.
“Further details regarding the game, tickets for the fixture and capacity will be confirmed soon, so please keep checking our website and social media.”
